Everyday essentials found in your kitchen, such as numerous herbs, you know - typically basil, rosemary, parsley, garlic for example...
You use them often enough to add flavour to your food, reaping many health benefits today, discover some of those benefits, for your health - and beauty.
To maintain a healthy balance for your body, all herbs are naturally potent in vitamins, minerals and nutrients, some of the more common herbs found in kitchens across the country are:
* Garlic - Garlic is a favourite, excellent for regulating the health of your blood and heart - lowers your cholesterol and blood pressure. Promotes healing with its anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant benefits.
* Basil - Basil is growing in popularity for both its taste and health benefits for your heart, rich in vitamins A, C & K, manganese and magnesium, improves blood circulation.
* Parsley - Parsley has been used throughout history more for its medicinal use rather than for food. Amongst the many benefits, often overlooked, known to help control your blood pressure - use with other fruit and vegetables as a juice smoothy after exercise.
Boost your body's natural balance, there are many herbs you can use to drink, such as tea. Personally, I like Chamomile and Peppermint, but not together!
All you need to do is, take the herb, put into your teapot, and with freshly boiled water, pour into the teapot and leave for 8 to 10 minutes, enough time to infuse.
Sit back, relax and enjoy!
Here is a tip - if your tea is slightly bitter, don't worry - use a teaspoon of honey to sweeten - not sugar however.
Used in creams, lotions, topically applied, herb extracts can enhance those carrier oils found in your skincare product. Light oils such as sweet almond and sunflower, extract will allow easier absorption of those oils by your skin - in effect the hydration of your skin lasts longer.
The longer you can keep your skin hydrated, the more supple your skin will feel to the touch - and you'll find, prevent many irritating problems, dry, flaky patches appearing being a common one.
Who would have thought there would be so many uses to herbs, every day wonders to shore up your health.
Possibly you'll look upon herbs in a different light, certainly you can grow them any where - in your garden, in a window box, or just in a plant pot!
There is definitely more to herbs than what first appears to the eye...
