After this weekend I would definitely say that winter has arrived and it's this time of year when our health and skin suffer the most. Lack of fresh air, exersize and lack of daylight make us prone to colds and flu.
I find the best thing that works for me when it comes to cough and sneezes is raw honey with warm water and fresh squeezed lemon, works wonders on a sore throat.
Lemons like other citrus fruit contains high amount of vitamin C, a powerful anti-oxidant and collagen in the human body. Just ¼ of lemon juice provides over 45% of the daily recommended value for vitamin C. Earn double points by adding lemon to a morning cup of green tea-this combination has been attracting a lot of attention lately due to the discovery that lemons multiply the antioxidant power of green tea’s catechins several times over
Very dry skin can benefit from the combination of lemon juice, olive oil and honey. Make a solution using equal parts and apply onto your dry skin. Wash it off after 10-15 minutes with warm water.
As for fighting age spots and fine lines, mix one teaspoonful of honey, a few drops of lemon juice and a drop of almond oil. Apply this mixture on your face and rinse off after 15-20 minutes. Do this every day for several weeks to see the fine lines disappear.
Always make sure you keep your skin well moisturised during the winter months and not let it dry out. Make sure your hands and face are always dried properly before going out in the cold.
