This is the stuff of legends The Highland Midge lotion.
As many have battled and lost a war on the Highland Scottish midge. Pretenders have come and gone, long in the past lost in
the glens who tried and tried to save the day and life.
No more pretenders to the throne. No more howling you'll hear through the glens. People running and screaming in their blind panic.
Made in Scotland this stuff is, for Scotland and for those who brave
the Highlands. For those who hate the bugs as they nag and nip as an old woman does. Take this lotion to save

It was either them or us... enough was enough
At one of the Highland games one year, the midges were thick and heavy. Breeding in their millions weeks earlier, they were bothering Mary and Elizabeth.
Mary decided enough was enough.. what was on the
market wasn't tough enough.
Not for her and not for passing customers who were also being eating
alive. The Scottish midge can smell fear from a mile away, something had to stop them.
Once and for all.
As the season came to an end a frustrated, angry Mary formulated a caring lotion. Creamy and light. Quality ingredients best for care
and health of skin, nothing spared or left out.
Elizabeth made a slight change to this early formula. Reducing one thing for the inclusion of Aloe Vera and Neem oil.
The family experimented with their early formulation. Many months later, reporting back their thoughts. Mary and Elizabeth felt blessed. Feedback
in hand they went ahead with the decision of what essential oils to use.
Elizabeth had read about the therapeutic benefits of Bog Myrtle. Having twisted Mary's arm to include this amazing oil,
Mother and Daughter went ahead with it.
Filled with excitement the family trialed the lotion throughout the West coast. In great secrecy, the Scottish midge was giving a taste of what
was to come for them.
Successful results were the midges hated the lotion. Despised it. Few family members sustained bites worth gurning about. Around the campfire,
fun, laughter and cheer brought in the nights.
Back home in
Fochabers Mary sent off her 1kg of lotion to the UK laboratory for testing. Months later the results finally
arrived. The lotion got a green light for launch and marketing.
In the early days, few would believe
until they tempted themselves to try it. In case we were right and it might save them a ruined holiday.
Since those early days, the Highland Midge lotion has travelled well. As far away as Vietnam, Egypt and France
and Austria and Kenya. Time and again receiving appraisal from paying customers.

Questions & Answers
Why a lotion, isn't a spray much more effective?
Elizabeth had considered a spray but decided against one for the following reasons:
a spray evaporates, on contact with skin almost immediately
carried off in the wind, a spray then becomes rather ineffective
sprays use a high volume of water or an oil substitute, for dispersion
with a spray, complete skin coverage isn't possible
The decision to use lotion is what has made the product so effective. The product as a luxury moisturiser is
what has made so many customers happy to use it.
Did it take long to get the correct formula you now use?
Looking back, the formulation now used, it took a little short of two years. Maddening trials within the
family and close friends, tweaks and much discussion.
The knowledge Mary has on aromatherapy carrier oils is incredible. That made a tremendous difference
to arrive at the formulation now in use.

there free complimentary samples available?
The ingredients are expensive, many of them are organic. The product is handmade and the cost outlay for providing free samples is beyond our means.
Is the texture really creamy like you say?
Yes. The texture is
in many ways due to a premium quality emulsifier in use. This emulsifying system provides a rich and smooth feeling to the
touch. But not too much of it, to leave a greasy layer afterwards.
Can the lotion be used on the face safely?
You can use it on your face most definitely without any fear or worries. The use of Jojoba is the best ideal oil for the face. It'll
ensure the lotion absorbs without fault.
Suggest also you smudge the lotion on behind your ears for extra protection.
You may massage this lotion into your roots and scalp without spoiling your hair. Once home, wash out the lotion before you shampoo.
