About Mary Jean®

We all want to look our best for our self confidence and how others see us yet it isn't always possible.


As a teenager suffering from problematic sensitive skin with an allergy to zinc, I realised the problem was not my skin but the products I was buying from the local chemist and supermarket.


Something had to change and quick because my skin problems were out of control.

How did it all Start?


I had read about the use of essential oils in aromatherapy and the overall benefits they had for the skin, body and mind.


Using well known authored books and the internet to find out more about cold-pressed carrier oils, their use and benefits and blending of essential oils.


This went on for over a decade actually. Just hungry for knowledge.


My brother Leslie said one day I should go into business for what I was doing. By this point, mid-2007, I was heavily involved in soap making and having the time of my life.


So Mary Jean began to take shape throughout 2007 and into 2008. My mother Elizabeth was roped into it as well. We researched EU regulations as my brother developed an online presence.


The company Mary Jean became a legal entity on the 28th of November, 2008.

Understandably, as a family, we have a thing about woodlands and lochs.


How thankful we feel for the rich diverse nature found throughout the Speyside. As far south as Aviemore, and north to the Moray coast there's a wood for roaming and a loch for moments of calm.

Our Passion


Some people love their countryside, the wildlife.


Myself and my family do more than love our natural world. We worship it. It is this one constant in our universe that feeds the passion we have.


From taking long walks along our country lanes, misty drizzle in the early morning. The deer come down for the new grass, entranced as our presence disturbes their feasting.


Cattle come running to you. Friendly and foolish all the same they snort with joy as you stop to say hello. See them often enough you give each of them a name, you will.


Pheastants startled, they take to flight in a fearful cry warning others.


If you are seasoned by rural country life, your camera is ready. Because nature plays a good theatre.

It's A Light Touch


Up close and personal, the scent is light, delicate, and fragrant. But I have yet to find it bless the air in the room; probably too subtle for me though I checked my nose was in good working order. I am left slightly disappointed. Service excellent, paying easy, arrival prompt, beautifully and carefully packaged with instructions.

Hand And Body Intesive Repair Cream


The first time I bought this cream was while visiting the tomintool highland games in 2018 to alleviate my sunburn. The effect was very convincing, my skin loves it - and so do I.

The Only Soap I'll Wash With
